Kathrin's musical career began in Greenwich Village at the height of the New York folk music scene of the 1960s. Billed as Kathy King (and still in high school), she shared a bill at the Fat Black Pussycat, a coffee house on MacDougal Street, with Richie Havens, Tiny Tim and the impressionist comic David Frye. The well-known and the soon-to-be frequently dropped in for guest sets.
She joined up with eight other singer/musicians who became the house group at the Cafe Au Go Go. The Au Go Go Singers included several now-famous musicians. She toured as one of Bobby Vinton’s backup singers, including performing at the Copacabana in NY, the Coconut Grove in LA, and on The Ed Sullivan Show.
As a stage actor, Kathrin has appeared on and off Broadway. Kathrin also has performed musical theater and cabaret and recorded 2 CDs, of mostly her own original songs. The second, Land of Beginning Again, is a collaboration with her longtime friend, guitarist Charlie Brown.
Kathrin is the author of two novels, WE WERE STARDUST and WILD AGAIN.
